Your basing your argument on longevity, this is boring me for if Longevity were that much of a factory Gordie Howe would be #1 without question. Longevity doesn't have much stick with me, so thats why Gordie Howe doesn't rank in my top 5 at all.

You made no post about my major argument to that Gretzky played in an offensive era with inflated to SHIIIT stats. A highly offensive player putting up highly offensive numbers on a highly offensive team being protected and babied the entire way is not as impressive me enough to give him the nod over Orr.

Inflated stats is all gretzky fans can ever spit, just yammer yammer yammer about stats. The minute you speak about the fact Gretzky was actually more woman than man they freak out and yell more stats lol.

The REASON Orr's career was ended early was that he played in such a demanding era physically and he was beat on every night. Still putting up insane numbers, still defending against hacks slashes high sticks to the face targeted like a dog perservering. What has Gratzky had to ever persevere against? yapping to the reff to make sure he did his job keeping the physical play off of him.

But all of that is ok, you can play untoutched.... with padded numbers as long as you do it for MANY years. Longevity are you kidding me. That doesn't make you the greatest player of all time, NOT in my books.

Seriously, if it was a wide spread point scoring bonanza then other players surely have these types of numbers. Not a single player does however? That's crazy. Also. Gretzky fans always point to the monsterous point totals that Gretzky put up, and if we are talking Gretzky vs the Orr the gloves come off and there will be tears.
