Very exciting series. The miscommunication between Sheffield and Crosby in the 2nd inning handed the game to the Angels. I hope Bernie returns next season with Yankee Pinstripes on. I am looking forward to the White Sox and Angels. I am just glad that if the Yankees got eliminated so did the Red Sox.
I am a Red Sox fan - and since they lost (and they deserved it too the way they played), I was rooting for the Angels the entire way. I personally felt they deserved it more than the Yanks and am glad they won. Angels for WS Champs!
Hey, the Yanks didn't get the big hits when they needed them. ARod couldn't do it, Sheffield couldn't do it. Last night was proof again why Jeter is the Capt. and why he doesn't have the best stats but people put him up there with the best players. With the game on the line he hit a HR, and got on base to be driven in. A disappointing season for a Yankees fan.
Re: Yanks & Ange Good series, crappy ending I hope Bernie hits the road, he's toast. Great career but its time to retire. And take Kevin Brown and half the bullpen with you. I wont watch a second of the WS/Angels. Once the Yankees are done its NFL time! Oh well at least the scummy Bosox are out too.
Re: Yanks & Ange It's a bad day in Yankeeville when the residence are rallying around the Red Sox failures. Boy, we have come a far way from the Curse of the Bambino. Ahh, Yankee-haters rejoice. 5 seasons and counting. Now you post-Mattingly Yankees fans can see the real genius of the Boss and it isn't his self-awared humor he shows in Visa commercials.
I've said somewhere else that It would be the Cards over the Angels in 6. Thought New York was going to pull it off though with Bartolo going down early. Arod was a chump this series hitting less than .140 and when it was his turn to redeem in the 9th with a man on what does he do? Grounds into a double play. Guess that 25 million a year only works for the regular season.
Re: Yanks & Ange I think that's the feeling of most baseball fans on the East coast, particularly in the NE. Something to do with that East coast bias I guess. I'm sure FOX is hating it that both Boston and NY are gone and they're left with 3 Midwest cities and one West coast city. Of course, with LA, Houston and Chicago you have the largest cities in the US after NY, so it can't be all that bad for them but the ratings would be much better with the New England/NE markets actually watching the rest of the MLB postseason.
I think that this is great without the Yankees and that you can't go out and by a championship. I wish they would cap Baseball and we would see a whole new league!!
Re: Yanks & Ange I dont think its a bias, its simply that when your favorite team is no longer involved you tend to lose interest. Plus Im not a big enough baseball fan to care about other teams. Now for football Im watching every playoff game i can.
